Mobile App

Mobile App

Listen from the native app.

The PulseMesh app allows you and your viewers to receive synchronized audio right to the phone. The app has a very simple user interface which filters for displays within 0.5 miles of the user's current location. The user can then click on the display to begin playback of the display audio.

iOS

Install

The iOS app can be found in the Apple App Store here

Airplay

Playback through Apple AirPlay is supported. To start playback over AirPlay you must configure it on your device, in control panel, as the PulseMesh app does not currently have a built-in selector. When a song starts playing over airplay you may notice it run faster than normal for the first few seconds, this is expected as PulseMesh adjusts to the 2 second delay imposed by the AirPlay protocol.

Android

Install

The Android app can be found in the Google Play Store here.

The app can also be downloaded directly here. The APK file should be downloaded on your device and opened. You may receive a warning about needing to adjust a setting to install "unknown apps". Follow these prompts to enable the app to be installed.

Notes

The Android ecosystem is more fragmented making it harder to account for the differences in output latency of each device. This may result in playback on select devices being +/-40ms from the source. While this will not be noticable to the vast majority of listeners, work is being done to bring the accuracy closer to the iOS version.

Some Android devices may also display a behavior where the audio appears to play slightly faster in the first few seconds of a song until the device achieves sync with the source. This is caused by the device being slow to start playback after being directed to do so by the app. Again, work is in progress to address this.
