2025 holiday season: 1,492 active displays, 46,081 listener sessions

Aggregate figures for the 2025 holiday season — 1,492 active displays and 46,081 qualified listener sessions across the PulseMesh platform.

Across the 2025 holiday season, PulseMesh recorded 1,492 active displays and 46,081 listener sessions.

What the numbers are

  • 1,492 active displays — displays that recorded at least one qualified listener session during the season.
  • 46,081 listener sessions — qualified sessions, meaning connections that met the service's sustained-playback threshold rather than brief visits that never became listening.

Both figures use the definitions on the How we count page. Neither is a count of people: a session is a connection, and a display can serve many sessions over a season, or a handful.

What the season looked like

The holiday season is the platform's densest workload of the year, and it is dense in a particular way — a large number of independent displays, each running short shows on a loop, most of them concentrated into the same few hours of the same few weeks. Traffic is bursty at the individual display and sustained in aggregate, and the operators running those displays are hobbyists and small businesses who set the show up once and then need it to work unattended, night after night, in the cold.

That shape is what the numbers above describe: not one large event, but a season's worth of small ones.

Ahead

We intend to publish a fuller year-in-review for future seasons, with the same figures broken out over time rather than as a single aggregate. This entry is the seed of that format.
